Back in 1992, Kim Walker was a college student who was thinking career, future and probably not sure if fame and fortune would ever come her way. Then she watched a selection of Colorado Lottery numbers and realized that she was holding the winning lottery ticket in her hand. Kim Walker, now Kim Haggerty instantly became the largest jackpot winner in Colorado history.
So what did she do?
The only thing we wanted to do was live in the mountains. Buy a big beautiful house which we did...live in Steamboat.
Kim got involved in her community, helping to morph the outdoor ice rink in Steamboat to the Howelson Ice Arena.
Her advice for potential lottery winners?
Spend the money like you earned it.
