There's not much travelling going on these days, and airports across the country are eerily empty – but that isn't stopping private planes from bringing some pretty important, and pretty adorable, passengers to Colorado.

According to Denver's CBS Channel 4, several pilots voluntarily flew puppies from Canine Companions for Independence to Colorado this week to help get them to their trainers on time. Trainers from the organization work to get the dogs prepared to assist and enhance the lives of people with disabilities. The non-profit offers these highly trained assistance dogs at no charge to the recipient.

Usually, the dogs from CCI are transported via commercial flights, but they're currently unable to do this due to COVID-19. It was made clear that appropriate CDC guidelines regarding the Coronavirus were followed on the private planes, and proper social distancing took place.

Six more puppies are expected to land in Colorado on Saturday.
