Many things are changing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it comes as no surprise that the ski industry is taking the steps necessary to be open.

The good news: The Vail ski resorts will have skiing this season. The bad news: It won't be easy.

For safety reasons, they'll be limiting the number of people at the resorts and on the slopes by using a reservation system.

Furthermore, according to the Denver Post, those who have an Epic Pass (which costs about $1,000/season) will be the only ones skiing until December 7, 2020, and will have first dibs on which days they'd like to reserve after that date.

Those who don't have an Epic Pass will make reservations from the remaining spots open for the given days after Epic Pass holders have staked their claims.

Also in regards to COVD-19 safety, those skiing at any of the five Colorado Vail resorts will need to wear face coverings when on a mountain, in lift lines, on chair lifts, gondolas, and in the resorts. No big surprise there, in my opinion.

They'll also be spacing out and limiting 'parties' on/in the gondola cars.

I often use the term, 'You gotta want it...' I think the idea fits when it comes to getting your ski on this coming season.

Keystone (a Vail resort) is set to open November 7, 2020.
