Will Larimer, Weld Counties Be Among Those Shifting to Level Red?

The 15 counties were announced later in the day on November 17; Larimer and Weld counties are not on the list.

At his Tuesday press conference, Governor Jared Polis announced that 10-15 Colorado counties will be moving into the 'Severe Risk' category in the coming days.

That means in those counties, doors will be closing for indoor dining (with outdoor dining for small parties and takeout/delivery still allowed) and last call would be 8 p.m. Those counties will also have to limit gym capacity to 10%.

Governor Polis has left it up to those counties to announce that they are, indeed, moving into the Red/Severe Risk level.

The Colorado Department of Health and Environment's updated 'color level dial' goes into effect on November 20, 2020.

Routt

Summit

Washington

Larimer County did advise that on Thursday, November 19, they will be having a Q&A session for residents after updating everyone on how the county is trending.  That session will be available with the county, HERE.

Could Northern Colorado be among those moving back to tighter restrictions?

Larimer County has been continually adding more restrictions as cases have increased and could be a candidate for the Red Level.

Weld County has been fairly vocal about their opposition to restrictions regarding COVID-19; it will be interesting to see how they react if they are one of the 10-15 counties moving to 'Severe Risk.'
