2 New Red Light Cameras Installed In Fort Collins
Over the Summer, Fort Collins Police Services added red light cameras.
One camera was added to Prospect and Shields in mid-September with the other installed at Mulberry and Shields back in July, according to the Coloradoan.
Red light camera tickets do not affect car insurance rates, cost $75 a pop. In 2019, 5,200 red light camera tickets were issued.
Sgt. Sara Lynd told the Coloradoan that money from red light camera tickets go toward operating the camera which cost about $10,000 per month, each.
As a mom, I completely see the value in these cameras. However, is it just me or do you find it safer, during the Winter months, to sometimes continue through a light that turned yellow a bit too late for you to safely slow down in the snowy weather?
