Branded as Taco Bell Cantina, the fast food chain spin-off is set to open in Chicago on September 22. Its customers, however, got a chance to test out the concept on Tuesday.

A second Cantina location selling only beer and wine will open in San Francisco later this month, according to the company. It could also potentially open 10 Cantina locations next year.

Alcoholic drinks on the Taco Bell Cantina menu include the Mountain Dew Baja Blast, Cantina Punch, and Cantina Margarita freezes, spiked with 1 ounce of Captain Morgan white rum, Ketel One vodka, or Don Julio tequila. The spiked drinks sell for $6.19 to $7.19 plus tax. Dos Equis and Fort Collins' New Belgium Brewing beers will be served, as well as wines from 2 California wineries, Steelhead Vinyards and Stack Wine (as seen on ABC's Shark Tank). Customers will not, however, be able to sip candy-flavored drinks such as the Strawberry Starburst Freeze - Taco Bell will keep the marketing of candy products and alcohol separate.

A security guard will be present at Chicago's Taco Bell Cantina to keep the restaurant from becoming a designated center for drunken shenanigans and underage drinking.

The idea for a boozy Taco Bell comes as the company tries to move into urban markets, destinations they know Millennials are increasingly attracted to. For the most part, its 6,000 restaurants are situated in suburban areas, a model which has worked well for the company.
