How Long Has Spirit Halloween Been Around?

Spirit Halloween, an off-shoot of Spencer Gifts, has been in operation since 1983. They started out in San Francisco, but today they can be found at over 1,400 locations in North America each season.

When you step into just about any Spirit Halloween shop, you're overwhelmed by the selection of items: masks, costumes, indoor/outdoor house decorations, props, makeup, and more. You can spend hours and hundreds (of dollars) browsing the aisles; it can be an adventure, for sure.

I can see folks setting aside a yearly budget for their annual trip into their local Spirit Halloween: Maybe a summer garage sale, a few lemonade stands, a few less dinners-out in spring/summer. The more you can spend, the more fun it is.
