Front Range Fire Rescue reported Thursday morning (Oct. 7) that a passenger vehicle had significantly collided with a school bus at Highway 60 and WCR 19.

Crews arrived at the scene and were able to extract the driver from the passenger vehicle. The rescue required extended extrication in order to safely and effectively remove the driver.

The driver was transported to UCHealth following the extraction. Crews also assessed the driver and students of the school bus. All 18 students, as well as the driver, were reported as having no injuries.

After the evaluation of the passengers of the bus, students were transported back to their parents by Johnstown Police Department and Weld RE5J officials.

While the investigation is ongoing, Highway 60 will remain closed.
