A former Fort Collins City councilman has been appointed by President Donald Trump to a federal post.

Gino D. Campana has been formally nominated to be the Chairperson of the Public Buildings Reform Board. If the senate confirms his nomination, Campana will serve a six-year term on the board that looks at reducing the amount of government real estate.

Campana was elected to the Fort Collins City council in 2013. The local developer behind Jessup Farm and Bucking Horse received a civil engineering degree from Colorado State University. He runs the Bellisimo real estate company.

Campana is the chairman of the Larimer County GOP and also previously served as a planning commissioner.
