Poudre Fire Authority Rescues Cyclist Near Horsetooth
Around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Poudre Fire Authority responded to a rescue near Horsetooth Reservoir on the Horsetooth Rock Trail. A helicopter was dispatched and was en route moments later to South Ridge Trail, while first responders from UC Health and multiple park rangers also remained with the injured cyclist.
Just after 4 p.m., Poudre Fire Authority tweeted that the cyclist was transported from the trail to the helicopter with serious injuries, but that units were clearing the scene.
In the last two weeks, in addition to structure fires, Poudre Fire has also responded to a number of water rescues, leading them to warn residents that it's not safe to tube in the Poudre yet.
