Popular Fort Collins Restaurant 1 Of 3 That Don’t Pass Inspection

Over the past 30 days, the Larimer County Department of Health has continued to be busy performing routine inspections at eating establishments across the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland, but the results have been a bit better than the few months before it.

In the past 30 days or so, only three establishments have not passed their initial routine inspection and require follow-up inspections.

As a reminder, the health department has done away with the old grading system and now rates establishments only as a pass or "re-inspection required" if the business acquires too many points for violations. In rare cases, restaurants that rack up too many violations can be closed on the spot until their infractions are corrected.

In the last 30 days, they have completed dozens of inspections and determined that only three needed re-inspections for varying reasons. One of those restaurants is a popular Italian eatery on Harmony: Carrabba's Italian Grill.

They were inspected on Sept. 28 and earned points for violation due to improper temps on both hot and cold items, in addition to more detailed violations like not having adequate supplies at hand washing stations, a dead food thermometer, inadequate seals on sinks, and for leaving the kitchen door to outside propped open for fresh air - which would allow bugs and rodents into the kitchen, though none were observed.

As a result of these somewhat routine infractions, they require a re-inspection for a "pass" grade.

The other two establishments not to pass in the last thirty days were Ding Tea on Elizabeth St. and Bacaro on Linden St.
