Apparently an argument at Red Feather Lakes northwest of Fort Collins this afternoon ended with one person being shot in the abdomen. The victim was flown to Medical Center of the Rockies according to reports.

Larimer County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 200-block of Shagwa Drive in Red Feather Lakes at 12:45 this afternoon on the report of a shooting.

It was reported that a physical confrontation between two adult males had escalated to the point where one man fired a single shot from a handgun striking the other man in the torso.  A 55-year-old Red Feather Lakes man was transported by air to a local hospital where he is being treated.  His condition is unknown.

The 68-year-old male, also of Red Feather Lakes, who fired the shot, has been cooperative with law enforcement and is being interviewed.  He has not been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released at this time.
