Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the Poudre Fire Authority responded to a structure fire at 328 Link Lane in Fort Collins, with hazmat dispatched as well as standard response teams.

Before 2 p.m., PFA tweeted that the fire had been 'quickly knocked down' at NoCo Distillery, but crews remained on scene to monitor the situation. On the 90-degree summer afternoon, PFA said that they were battling an ethanol (alcohol) fire, which burns really quickly and at a very high temperature.

Fortunately, PFA said that there were no reported injuries, though the damage did include melted insulation, which coated items inside of the garage. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, NoCo Distillery used its production space and its liquor bottles to make hand sanitizers, which are available at the distillery and throughout Northern Colorado at several locations. Recently, NoCo Distillery was able to team up with a local restaurant to reopen a 'speakeasy room' at limited capacity.
