One of my best Colorado memories is from when I first moved here, sat by the fire at Odell's and drank a pumpkin craft beer.

It was a whole mood, which is why I am so ready to check out Locust Cider, opening just in time for the cool weather.

Locust Cider will be at 200 Walnut St., in place of the former La Luz Mexican Grill which closed in September of 2018. Locust Cider has 10 locations stretching from Texas to Washington to Boulder and now their small-batch hard ciders are coming to Old Town.

The Coloradoan says husband and wife duo, Rebecca and Jason Spears, run the company together and will be opening a third Colorado location in Lakewood just one week after the Fort Collins grand opening.

Locust Cider will offer 16 taps at the Fort Collins location and will begin to use more ingredients harvested in Colorado to create special blends for this market, according to the Coloradoan.

Because the Spears' daughter lives with the brain condition Hydrocephalus, a portion of all Locust Cider cans and bottle sales will be donated to the Hydrocephalus Association.
