Nebraska Family Has Truck Stolen While at Aurora Children’s Hospital
A family from Sioux City, Nebraska, traveled over 550 miles to get to the Children's Hospital in Aurora so that their 4-year-old son could get treatment.
According to Denver 7, while the family was getting much-needed treatment for joint pain due to cerebral palsy, their 20-year-old F-350 was stolen. I can't imagine the additional stress the family had to be under: their child in pain, the long drive, the cost of fuel for an F-350, and then the truck is gone.
'Had' is the operative word, though, as Denver 7 came to the rescue and helped to get the truck back.
The family reached out to the station's investigative team, Contact7, to see if they could help them. Denver7 ended up putting the family's story on air, and somebody was able to identify their truck as one that was located about a mile away behind an apartment building.
It is a great story on how viewers of Denver7 were ready to step up and help the family, including cash donations and an old [employer] that bought them a vehicle before news of the truck behind found came out.
The young son's car seat was still in the truck, but they'll need to get the ignition repaired before heading back to South Sioux City.
