The coroner's office has identified the man killed by police in Weld County over the weekend.

According to CBS Denver, 60 year old Smoky Lynn Crockett , who lived in the Aristocrat Ranches just outside of Fort Lupton close to where the shooting occured. The details are still unclear as to which agency is responsible for the shooting death but the incident is still under investigation.

Police responded to the call after a woman called 911 to report that there was a man with a gun who wouldn't let her leave her home and was threatening to kill her.

After authorities arrived, they ordered Crockett to drop his weapon, after several minutes of interacting with the man, police opened fire and the man was pronounced dead around 9:30a.m on Saturday morning.

he Weld County Sheriff’s Office, along with Fort Lupton, Dacono and Greeley police departments responded to the scene.
