Larry Eustachy Resigns and Gets Settlement
Larry Eustachy is no longer the men's head basketball coach at Colorado State University as of today. He had been on administrative leave since February 3rd as the University launched an investigation for alleged abusive behavior toward players and staff.
It was the second time during his tenure at CSU that he was investigated by the University for these allegations. The first time, the Athletic Director at CSU at the time, Jack Graham, recommended the University fire Eustachy "with cause". This time, Eustachy has resigned his position as head coach and has agreed to a settlement.
Meanwhile, the men's basketball program has gone through extreme challenges. After Eustachy was placed on administrative leave, assistant coach Steve Barnes took over the program on an interim basis. Barnes was then also placed on administrative leave on February 3rd because of concerns raised by players. Another assistant coach, Jase Herl was next to take over the program and has since been tagged interim coach.
Eustachy leaves as one of the winningest coaches in school history. According to the Coloradoan, he will remain on paid administrative leave through June 30th and receive three payments of $250,000 over the next two years.
