Larimer County’s ‘Last Call’ Extended to Midnight, 11 p.m. for Weld
Governor Polis extends how late bars/restaurants can serve alcohol in each county, based on how severe COVID-19 is in that county.
According to the Denver Post, Governor Polis on Saturday, September 19, 2020, extended his statewide 'Safer-at-Home' order in regards to 'last call' times, that he established on July 21, 2020. This extension is using data from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) to set the times.
The 'better' COVID-19 look in a given county, the later it can stay open. Counties that are currently under the lowest rating, 'Protect-Our-Neighbors,' can serve as late at 2 a.m, like 'normal.'
According to the CDPHE, Larimer County is at 'Safer Level 1' and therefore bars/restaurants can serve alcohol until Midnight. Weld County is at 'Safer Level 2' which means only have until 11 p.m. to serve alcohol.
Though the extension does help out the bars and restaurants struggling to recover from the pandemic, it's sure to raise more ire because of having an early 'last call' at all.
