Over 2000 pounds of love and power is now pooping all over my pasture and I couldn't be happier. You see, I have waited 30 years for this moment. I now own two of my very own horses.

My family made the decision to leave suburbia and try our hand and living out. My husband grew up in New York City. I grew up on 20 acres of undeveloped land in southwest Colorado, solar panels, hauling our water, wood stove heat, etc. Unfortunately, my family didn't have money. We had land, but there were limited possibilities.

When I was 10 I ended up in a summer rec program to learn about horses. The bond was almost immediate between me and this huge blonde Appaloosa. Throughout my life, I have always had friends with horses, but I have never been able to have my own.

That changed this year. This has been the best thing to come out of 2020 for sure. We started horse life with a sweet and still rocking 23-year-old mare named Ronda. Old cowboys say it's bad luck to change a horse's name. New cow people say it doesn't matter. We kept her name as Ronda, oh well. However, I got the chance to name my sweet 5-year-old palomino. His name is Otero.

My daughter and I have dreamed of this moment. I've dreamed of it for over 30 years.
