Fort Collins Asking for 4th of July Chalk Art
Chalk is forgiving. Even the most basic design or cloud of fun words, when written in chalk on a sidewalk, can brighten things up.
July 4th festivities will be very limited in Fort Collins this year, so I think we could all do with a little brightening up. This is a way to be a part of something fun and share with your community.
Chalk Across FoCo, scheduled for July 4, is being organized by the City of Fort Collins. They are asking that you register your chalk art locations and send pictures so that the public can vote on winners.
For more information, here's the statement from the City of Fort Collins:
What is Chalk Across FoCo?
Get yourself some sidewalk chalk
Register to let neighbors know where to see your chalk art
Draw your masterpiece by noon on July 4th
Send pictures of your chalk art to NSPrograms@fcgov.com by noon on July 7th
The public will vote and determine the winners between July 8-11. Winners announced July 13!
The first 50 neighborhoods to register will receive free sidewalk chalk. Register your chalk art here beginning June 15th.Prizes will be awarded for chalk creations in these categories:
Interactive: Give neighbors a way to participate by creating a chalked-out board game, photo opportunity, or outline for others to color.
Won’t you be my neighbor?: Introduce yourself to neighbors through chalk art! Show and tell something special about yourself or your neighborhood and leave messages for your neighbors with friendly drawings.
Kids’ Masterpiece: The sky’s the limit here, kids! Choose your own adventure & chalk on!
FoCo 4th: Show the FoCo flavor of celebration.
