Johnstown Mailing Out $20 to Residents to Spend Locally
If you live in Johnstown, you'll be getting more than a stimulus check, you'll also be getting $20 'Johnstown Cash' in the mail.
Johnstown Cash is a $20 gift certificate that every household will be receiving in the mail, which can be used at participating local businesses in Johnstown. The purpose of the $20 certificate is to ' help local businesses and encourage more local shopping,' the Town of Johnstown wrote on its Facebook page.
The certificates can be used starting April 1, and Johnstown Mayor Gary Lebsack said that this program will continue through all of 2021, so residents can use the certificate right away, or hold onto it for shopping during the holiday season.
'The Town Council and I are excited about our new Johnstown Cash program because it is a great way to encourage folks to shop locally. These local businesses are our neighbors, friends and community members and the Johnstown Cash program not only supports them and their businesses (which are vital to the Town) but also gives back to the residents of our community.' - Johnstown Mayor Gary Lebsack via press release.
The release also says that over 30 Johnstown businesses have registered to accept Johnstown Cash, ranging from salons to hardware stores, restaurants and more. Johnstown's website has listed the businesses below as participating in the program, but more may continue to join. Businesses interested in joining can do so here.
