Johnstown is Getting Another Grocery Store at Ledge Rock Center
Over the past few years, the town of Johnstown has quickly grown with the addition of Scheels, Liberty Firearms, the development of Johnstown Plaza, and various housing projects. According to the United States Census, Johnstown has grown from a population of 9,887 in 2010 to 17,324 in April of 2020. More than two years have passed since the last census and it is predicted that Johnstown has approximately 18,204 residents as of July 1, 2021.

With the high increase of residents to the town of Johnstown, there is still only one grocery store within the town limits. Hays Market located at 201 Johnstown Center Drive has been the destination for those needing groceries at a local level. However, some residents venture to other grocery stores in Loveland, Greeley, and Windsor.
Johnstown Will Get Another Grocery Store
Plans from the Ledge Rock Development located on the southwest corner of State Highway 60 and Interstate 25 reveal another grocery store is in the works for the residents of Johnstown.
One of the many buildings in the Ledge Rock Center is a grocery store called Wood's Grocery.
What We Know About Wood's Supermarket
Other than the plans for the Ledge Rock Center, there isn't much information on the grocery store chain coming to Johnstown. We know that Woods Supermarket started in Log Lane, Missouri, in 1947 by Don and Berth Woods. Currently, there are a total of 10 Woods Supermarkets in the state of Missouri. Woods Supermarket says that the grocery chain continually looks for expansion opportunities. You can Find out more about Woods Supermarket HERE.
The Stores at Ledge Rock Center in Johnstown, Colorado
Woods Supermarket is just one of many stores that will be at the Ledge Rock Center in Johnstown. The Ledge Rock Center has confirmed that these other retailers and services will also be coming to Johnstown:
- Autozone
- Starbucks
- Boot Barn
- Murdoch's
- Von Maur
- Heartland Dental
- Carwash
- Tire Center
Additionally, two hotels, two apartment communities, and two subdivisions will also be a part of the Ledge Rock Center development. Ledge Rock Center will bring dozens of retail stores to the area based on the Ledge Rock Center plans.
The plans also call for 10 acre-sized pads. We could speculate that these pads are going to be possible for restaurants or other retail outlets. As a Johnstown resident that doesn't live too far from this development, I am hopeful that we will see a Whataburger in this area soon enough.
