Could Northern Colorado Be Getting Another Costco Along with Texas Roadhouse?
With Northern Colorado continuing to grow and bring in more people, the thought of a second Costco for the Fort Collins area sounds very appealing. Many folks in Northern Colorado also love a great steak; a third Texas Roadhouse for the area would also bring excitement.
Johnstown's prosperity in the area east of I-25 along Highway 34 could be about to see another "boom," to go along with Scheel's and the other businesses, along with restaurants, that draw so many people. Having a Costco and a Texas Roadhouse out there would definitely bring even more; more people means more tax dollars and more prosperity for Johnstown. The town annexed that area back in 2000; 25+ years later, you can find many places to eat and shop in/around 2534. Will they be seeing Costco and Texas Roadhouse?

In early December of 2025, it was heard that developers would be bringing in a Costco, along with a Texas Roadhouse, to the area of Larimer Parkway and Ronald Regan Boulevard. If you're familiar with the US Bank location along Larimer Parkway, it was suggested the two would go in to the south of that bank, near the Union Street and Larimer Parkway intersection.
It goes without saying, that the Costco in Fort Collins gets very, very busy; having one just off of I-25 and Highway 34 would be very convenient for many. The same goes for Texas Roadhouse; I for one, am a big fan of Texas Roadhouse. A location just east of Loveland would see me there, quite often.
I reached out to the Johnstown Planning Department who told me that they haven't received anything about a Costco at this time; they did receive a pre-application submittal for preliminary design feedback about a Texas Roadhouse, but nothing formal as of December 9, 2025.
