Meth-Laced Hot Dogs Harming Dogs in CO
Dogs like to eat, and typically, they will eat anything they can find, even if it isn't food. It isn't uncommon for them to eat a toy, a stick, or something they find on the ground. If a dog isn't trained, it may try to go after anything in your kitchen. Most people train their dogs and do the best they can to watch what they eat, but sometimes random things may end up near them that they consume without their owners knowing. Recently, some dogs in Colorado got sick after eating meth-laced hot dogs found in their backyard.
Meth-Laced Hot Dogs Poison Dogs in Colorado
Most people enjoy eating hot dogs, and animals enjoy eating them too. They are delicious and hard to resist, and telling a dog not to eat one is like telling a person not to sleep or breathe. Recently, multiple dogs got sick after consuming hot dogs that they found in their yard, only these weren't normal hot dogs, as they were laced with methamphetamines. This has been taking place in Broomfield. The scary part is that the owner claims not to know where the hot dogs came from and is unaware of how they got into the yard. This was not a one-time occurrence, though, and has happened in multiple situations, which has had the owner contemplating moving, and has had them have to pay thousands of dollars to the vet to help the dogs recover from consuming the drugs. To make this story more bizarre, the owner is a vegetarian, meaning clearly the hot dogs are coming from somewhere else.
Poisoning Dogs in Colorado
The first time this happened was in November of last year, and as most would do, the owner assumed it was a freak situation and would never occur again. About a month later, another dog she owned consumed something in the backyard and started showing symptoms, and the owner realized something was wrong. After going to the vet, it was confirmed that the dog had ingested meth. Sadly, this was not the last time this would happen, though. The most recent incident took place in March, and sadly, there are no leads on who is doing this cruel act. The bills have piled up as the dogs need to go to the vet each time they consume these hot dogs, and if you want to help out the family, you can do so by donating to their GoFundMe page at this link.

If you have any details or know the person who is doing this, contact the authorities. For more on the full story, make sure to click the link in the second paragraph above. If you let your dogs roam the yard freely, especially in the Broomfield area, make sure to keep an eye on them and get them to the vet if you notice any odd behavior.
