You Can Get Paid To Buy A Bike in Colorado: Here Is How
Colorado happens to be one of the most bike-friendly states in the nation. Whether you are biking on a trail or on the street you know that purchasing a bike can be an expensive endeavor.
I have been going back and forth on whether or not to buy a bike for the past few years. I like the idea of it, but I would hate to spend a lot of money on something that will collect dust.
I unfortunately have a bad habit of doing that. I have a hobby graveyard in my garage. The decision to purchase a bike may have become easier for many of us thanks to a new program from the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Bicycle Tax Credit Begins in Colorado
An electric bicycle program will begin on April 1. No, that is not an April Fools Day joke. Coloradans will receive a $450 discount when they buy an e-bike.
If you are curious, the discount will be right when you buy a bike. You will not have to worry and wait for a check to come in the mail.
According to The Gazette, the goal is to make e-bikes more realistic to own in Colorado. Overall our state leaders believe that this program will be better for the environment since Coloradans would be driving less.
E-Bikes Explained
E-bikes have a small motor that can help you when you are pedaling. Most e-bikes will let you choose the speed of the bike. It is similar to controlling your vehicle's cruise control.
That is what it felt like to me when I rode my first e-bike last summer. I was at the Greeley Stampede and it was offered to me. Honestly, riding an e-bike is a blast.
