When spring and summer hit Colorado, people really feel the need to get outside, after being homebound during winter. Around Fort Collins, you're going to find many outdoor activities; how about a nice little hike for a bit?

Benefits of a Hike Around Fort Collins, Colorado

There are a lot of benefits to getting outside and going to a little walk or hike. You don't have to be out there trying to set a personal record or training for that 5K later in the year; just being out there can boost your cardiovascular health, improve your mental health, and help with insomnia, among other things.

There are two arguments about bringing technology with you on your pretty hike: One, leave technology behind and stay off the grid for a little while, to help clear your head. On the other hand, brining a podcast or music you enjoy (privately) can help you enjoy your outing. I prefer the latter.

One of my favorite little and easy hikes around Fort Collins is the Coyote Ridge Natural Area hike. While the entire hike is listed as "moderate," you can take the little and easy hike to the cabin (which you can't see from the road/trailhead.) I think it's fun how you get so far and say, "Well, hey- there's a cabin there."

Speaking of the Coyote Ridge Trail, I wonder how many people have taken it into Loveland, as it connects to the Devils Backbone Trail, which can either be a 9-10 mile or 13-mile hike.
