Hat Trick Pushes Eagles To Win Against Ontario Over The Weekend
Colorado forward Mike Vecchione netted three goals...in ONE period and it was a big one too. In a back and forth game, Vecchione put the Eagles up for good and sealed a win for the Eagles to a 7-5 win over the Ontario Reign on Sunday.
The win snapped a four game losing streak for the Eagles who have been hit hard by the recent call ups of some key players to the Colorado Avalanche for their playoff run. It's always tough because, you love to see these players get called up to the bigs but at the same time, you hate to see the team struggle to fill their roles on the roster.
Such is the life of a minor league sports franchise. The Eagles, who have been one of the more successful AHL franchises will return home to action for the final three games to wrap up a bizarre pandemic plagued season.
They'll take on the San Diego Gulls Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
