Remember back in elementary school art class when you got to take home the projects you made? It was fun to create your own original pieces, and who wasn't excited to show them off at home afterwards.
We may have all graduated grade school at this point, but that doesn't mean the fun of art class has to end too. Lots of local Northern Colorado businesses actually offer DIY classes, ranging from all sorts of crafts and activities. Not only do you get to let out your inner-creativity, but you also get to walk away with something handmade which is pretty cool.

Messy Mug Making at Gilded Goat Brewing
Get ready to get messy! Flingin' Pots and Gilded Goat Brewing have teamed up to host a night full of mug making. For $30, makers get to choose from 5 pre-made cylinder shapes and are then able to customize the handle and exterior design - this price also includes a drink token. Mug making lasts from 6pm-8:30pm. Chunky Knit Blanket at Pinot's Palette
Chunky knit blankets are all the rage right now! Lucky for you, Pinot's Palette offers multiple monthly classes where guests can knit their own cozy, chunky blanket. No previous knitting or needling experience is required, and all supplies are provided. Classes are $65 per guest.

Macrame Plant Holder at Kansas City Kitty
After this 2-hour workshop at Kansas City Kitty, you'll walk away with a unique macrame plant holder to hang in your house. The instructor will go over different knotting techniques, necessary materials, and design ideas for future projects. The $45 fee covers all of the supplies needed to create the plant holder. The class goes from 6pm-8pm on April 16.

DIY Bubble of Happiness Terrarium at Gulley's Greenhouse
Terrariums are bright, fun projects that people of any age can enjoy making! The afternoon session at Gulley's Greenhouse helps guests create a DIY Bubble of Happiness Terrarium, which features lucky ladybugs, colorful marbles and Peperomia. Tickets are $30 and that includes all of the materials. Pre-registration is required for this class.

DIY Dog Toy Make & Take at the Berthoud Community Library
The Berthoud Community Library hosts a bunch of DIY classes every month. From 2-3pm on March 18, stop by and make a dog toy for that special pup in your life! Even if you don't have a dog, you can make one for your friends or family members' pet, or donate it to the humane society.
