The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has honored Loveland's 'Love Lock' sculpture with a national Award of Excellence.

According to a press release from the City of Loveland, the sculpture placed with two other entries in the "consumer-service marketing in the areas of travel, tourism and hospitality" category at the PRSA's Silver Anvil awards in October.

The award honors the City's Economic Development Department's tourism staff, as well as outside consultant Fyn Public Relations, who erected the sculpture at the Sweetheart Festival in 2019.

Created by Loveland engineer Doug Rutledge, the 12-ton sculpture now resides at the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce headquarters, northwest of Highway 34 and I-25.

The public can still place their 'love locks' on the artwork, à la the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris.
