A portion of South College Avenue was closed for nearly four hours Wednesday (June 16), while Fort Collins Police investigated a truck vs. motorcycle collision.

Police were responded to the accident at the intersection of S. College Avenue and Arthur Drive at approximately 6:35 p.m. According to their investigation, a 2014 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was initially travelling northbound on College Avenue and made a U-turn at Arthur Drive in order to go southbound on College Avenue. A 2005 Suzuki SV650 was also travelling southbound on College when it collided with the pick-up truck.

The two occupants inside of the Dodge Ram were reportedly uninjured in the crash. The adult, male driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Due to the severity of the motorcyclist's injuries, the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team responded and remained on scene for four hours to investigate. South College from Prospect Road through Arthur Drive was closed during this time.

Police are still investigating the factors that led up to the accident. Anyone with information who has not already spoken to police is asked to call Officer Brandon Barnes at (970) 221 6540.
