Fort Collins Police Investigate Motorcycle vs. SUV Collision
Fort Collins Police are investigating a motorcycle vs. SUV collision that left one man injured over the weekend.
Police initially responded to an injury accident between a motorcycle and SUV just after 10 p.m. on September 28. The accident had occurred at Highway 392 near the I-25 overpass.
According to police, a 2006 Cadillac Escalade had been traveling west on Highway 392 and was also in the left turn lane. As the SUV was making a left turn onto the southbound I-25 ramp, it collided with a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling east on Highway 392.
The 36-year-old driver of the Escalade was not injured in the accident. The 55-year-old driver of the motorcycle, Douglas Gore, of Windsor, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The southbound on-ramp to I-25 remained partially closed for about 3 hours while the FCPS CRASH Team stayed on-scene to investigate. They do not believe that alcohol or speed were factors to the collision, but are working to determine the color of the traffic lights at the time of the crash.
Anyone with information about the collision, who has not already given a statement to police, is asked to contact Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-416-2224.
