Former Miss Colorado Wins Miss California USA Pageant
Former Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, has been crown Miss California USA 2018. She will represent the state of California in the Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas in May. Here are some photos from last night taken by Kelley's stepfather, Gene Haffner.
We are so proud. We have been friends with Kelley since she was 8 years old and friends with Gene for 25 years. In fact, my wife and I spent Christmas with their family last year.
Gene posted this on his Facebook page yesterday:
For the past two years, Kelley has been blessed with incredible opportunities & wonderful people. She has worked & lived in California for a little over a year. In July, she decided she wanted to identify a way to continue to challenge herself, grow and have a positive impact in life. She decided to enter the Miss California USA Pageant which was held this weekend in Long Beach. We are blessed to be able to tell you that tonight she was crowned Miss California USA 2018 & will participate in the Miss USA event in May in Las Vegas. Congratulations, Kelley!!
This YouTube video shows Kelley's performance at the Miss California USA Pageant:
We will never forget the year that Kelley spent as Miss Colorado and rose to international fame as Nurse Kelley. She was on our show several times that year, including the 28 Hours of Hope and on stage with me, introducing Kenny Rogers at the Greeley Stampede.
Here is a throwback of Kelley and me when she was in high school. She won "best dressed" at one of our Re-Proms.
