He'll go down as one of the very best place-kickers that the Denver Broncos ever had. He'll also go down as the only Denver kicker to have written four novels.

His statistics shows all sorts of records, including having scored the 20,000th televised point for Monday Night Football. Coincidentally, one of his novels has "Monday Night" in it's title.

Take a look at that guy. On the left, is a picture from his 14th season for the Broncos, on the right is from about 10 years later, at his Ring of Fame induction in 2016. Denver Broncos #1 (in many ways) Jason Elam.

Jason Elam scored over 1,700 points, all on his own, as the Kicker for the Denver Broncos for 15 of his 17 years in the NFL. Jason Elam did play for the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons, but re-singed with the Broncos in 2010 to retire as a Denver Bronco. Everybody loved Jason.

The fans loved Elam even more, when in 1998, he kicked that 64-yard field goal. That kicked tied Jack Dempsey's record, which had stood alone for 28 years. 15 years later, it would be Denver Broncos' Matt Prater setting a new record: 64 yards.

It's great to have Jason as a member of the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, but he didn't stop at football. He has also been a part of writing four novels; football-based books of fiction, which are really fun reads, especially if your are a Broncos fan.

Jason, along with Steve Yohn (Elan's pastor,) have penned a series of novels based on an NFL linebacker, Riley Covington, who plays for the Colorado Mustangs. Covington had previously been in special-ops, and his past life intertwines with his present, in each adventure.

In the third of four novels in the Riley Covington Series, while Riley reels from a family member's murder, and being traded, his counter-terrorism unit must stop an EMP bomb from going off in the U.S.

In the 4th of 4 in the series, Riley is attempting and NFL comeback after taking two seasons off, when he is called back to join his counter-terrorism team after extremists take hostages at the National Cathedral.

They all sound like great reads. Maybe you should get all four for a vacation read, or for relaxing after a Denver Broncos win.
