Long-Needed Change Comes to Downtown Loveland
Downtown Loveland holds one of Colorado's Josh & Joh's ice cream shops. In the summer of 2025, that shop renovated an old sign that sits on the corner.
Downtown Loveland Realty Sign That Dates Back to 1968 Gets Makeover
A building at the corner of 5th Street and Cleveland Avenue once held a gas station; in 1968, according to the Reporter-Herald, it became Sennett's Realty. It's hard to accurately say whether the gas station or Sennett's Realty put up the sign that's on the corner, but It did say Sennett's Realty until Josh & John's Ice Cream bought the spot.
The corner of 5th Street and Cleveland Avenue has seen many businesses since Sennett's Realty shuttered, including Studio 501 for many years.
When I had head that Josh & John's was going in there, I thought that they'd be removing that big, ugly sign; however, they let the sign remain and just painted over it. I reached to them about it, thinking that maybe there was some reason from the city that they couldn't remove it, they said that they wanted to keep it and would be doing "something" with it.

By the end of August 2025, they had indeed done "something" with that old sign. I don't know how much they spent on it, but they did a really great makeover on that old Sennett Realty sign.
With the makeover of that sign, you have to believe that Josh & John's intends to stay at that corner for a long time, which is a scoop of good news.
