Denver Dad, Young Daughter Impaled by Tree in Storm

This past weekend's sudden storm caused some in Northern Colorado to lose power, while others faced more physical destruction from the wind and rain. The Denver Fire Department responded to one such call, initially thinking they'd been called to help someone pinned under a fallen tree.

However, once the authorities arrived, they found that the situation was more severe than anticipated. It's hard to imagine how scary it must have been on Saturday, June 6, 2020, for this family. FOX31 Denver has the story of how a father and his nine-year-old daughter were both impaled by a fallen tree while outside a family member's house.

Luckily, the daughter just needed a few stitches and was soon released from the hospital. Her dad, however, was impaled through the back, which required surgery before his release.
