CSU Women’s Basketball: Mountain West Champions
It took a couple of last second free throws made by junior Ellen Nystrom to seal the deal and beat the Bulldogs of Fresno State 55-54.
The Rams' season-long goal of winning the Mountain West Championship and automatically advancing to the NCAA tournament has come true. The Rams (31-1), and ranked No. 22 in the nation, took to the court ready to dominate. The Bulldogs came into the tournament ranked as the No. 2 seed. Could not have asked for a better matchup to see the No.1 and 2 seeds playing for the title.
CSU has won 27, now 28, games in a row since its only loss on the season came by just one-point from Penn.
