Couples Can Marry Themselves in Colorado
No judge needed. That's right, in Colorado, a couple can just marry themselves.
I know this because 11 years ago, my husband and I married ourselves in a tree. In Larimer County, all you need is a valid ID and $30 to make your union official. When you fill out the paperwork, just circle the option for the type of ceremony that indicates "self".
My husband and I thought it was kind of a fun little secret between us. A few months later, we had a big wedding. There are lots of ways to do your wedding day right.
A columnist at Cosmopolitan even wrote about self-made marriages in an article titled "We Married Ourselves on a Mountaintop."
