Colorado will allow indoor and outdoor events like small concerts, trade shows and movies to resume as of Thursday, June 18, while following guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

It's been months since we've seen live music in person, as venues shut down across the entire country in mid March and the COVID-19 pandemic hit, so the idea of going to a show again is sweet, live music to our ears.

As of right now, these guidance constitute the plan to be able to resume small concerts, as Polis mentioned in his press conference on Monday. The State of Colorado has issued drafts, subject to change, for both indoor events and outdoor events, and feedback, like suggestions and concerns, will be accepted through Wednesday, June 17 at 5 p.m.

Here's what it'll be like:

  • Standard venues under 5,650 square feet can operate at 50 percent capacity or fewer than 50 people (whichever is the lower number).
  • Large venues over 5,650 square feet can hold 50 percent capacity or up to 125 people.
  • Larger venues over 11,300 square feet can also do 50 percent full or up to 175 people.

For attendees, this means potential pre-screenings for symptoms upon arrival, physical distancing of at least six feet, face coverings, and not 'mixing and mingling with others' at events.

We'll see you at a show! Don't worry, we'll keep our distance.
