Colorado School District Plans Restart, 10 Child Limit Per Class
One Colorado School district has plans in place to start August 18, but it's going to be A LOT different than what students are used to.
When classes return on August 18, the first stop for students will be a screening process, including temperature checks. Then, students will be reminded to keep a safe, six-foot distance from their peers. Students will also be spread out throughout the school for lunch. However, they will not be in the cafeteria or gym, as both have been closed for safety. They will also have a strict 10-student limit for classrooms.
If you're a parent and feel more comfortable keeping your child at home, the school says that will be allowed as well.
Superintendent Kristopher Schuh said this to The Denver Channel:
We believe in-person learning and interactions are a vital part of student academic and social emotional well-being.
Schuh went on to say that the biggest challenge will be keeping classrooms to 10 students per class. The district says more clarification is coming on how they plan to maintain this limit.
