Colorado Has a General Lee Snowcat – and it Got Stolen
In the town of Minturn, which is in Eagle County, there is a snow cat that's painted up just like the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard.
Or there was, until someone hitched up to the trailer it was on and took off with it. A Toyota Tacoma pulled it nearly 200 miles across Colorado this past Sunday. The Eagle County Sheriff posted this on Facebook upon finding out, and naturally... people started commenting left and right about seeing the orange machine going down the road, including a guy in an airplane who flew overhead while taking in the show of his life.
This got as many laughs as anything we've heard of as well. Trying to hide a bright, 11,000-pound machine isn't easy, but this thief didn't even try.
In the Dukes of Hazzard, a car would get stolen every now and then, and even in this old fictional show where people constantly defied logic and even science, the crook in the show would at least paint the stolen car immediately!
Mesa County Sheriff's office arrested a 27-year-old man - who also had at his home drugs, firearms, and a stolen snowmobile - and rescued the General.
