By now, if you live in the State of Colorado, you are well aware that privately launched fireworks are a big no-no, even this time of year leading up to the 4th of July.

Colorado prohibits fireworks that leave the ground statewide, meaning anything that flies into the air or explodes is illegal to shoot off in the state. The problem is our rowdy neighbor to the north knows this, and such exists several fireworks stands just north of the Colorado-Wyoming border as a result.

Coloradans should be advised that purchasing fireworks in Wyoming and transporting them into the state of Colorado is in itself illegal, not just launching them here. Not that it doesn't happen frequently this time of year.

Fireworks on the 4th will start after the conclusion of the Rockies game and will actually be on display Saturday, July 5th at Elitch Gardens when the park closes at 9 PM.
