We all know it's been unusually hot, but I didn't know that affected water pressure. The City of Loveland says that due to our extreme temperatures, the water system is in high demand, so that means lower water pressure for Loveland Water & Power customers.

Water usage in the City of Loveland was up 35% on Wednesday, using 27 million gallons.

Residents are encouraged to participate in Loveland’s Shave the Peak program; to water on even or odd days depending on their house address number, to aid in relieving the overtaxed water system. Those who live in a home with an even number are asked to water on even number calendar days. The same applies for those in odd number addresses and odd calendar days.

When more seasonal temperatures return, water pressure should return to normal.
