City of Greeley Recognized for Energy Efficiency

Xcel Energy presented the City of Greeley with the Xcel Energy Achievement Award. The City of Greeley installed high-speed turbo blowers at the Greeley Water Pollution Control Facility. The new blowers are projected to save 2,786,656 kilowat-hours annually and will reduce electrical consumption and greenhouse gasses.

In addition to the environmental benefits, this project will save the City of Greeley Water and Sewer Department money.  In 2011, the plant used approximately 7,372,821 kWh and the new blowers are projected to save 38% in electricity. The City of Greeley also received a $121,086 rebate from Xcel Energy to install the high efficiency blowers.
