City of Fort Collins Starts COVID-19 Crisis Volunteer Network
Looking to help your neighbors during the current COVID-19 Coronavirus crisis?
The City of Fort Collins is expanding its Adopt A Neighbor program to meet the modern challenges of the current outbreak.
Healthy volunteers are needed to help other residents who need assistance with tasks such as buying groceries, shoveling snow, or caring for pets.
Specific jobs vary by each case. The City provides guidance to volunteers helping during the COVID-19 crisis, like placing groceries on a front porch versus handing them directly to their neighbor.
Sign up to be part of the volunteer program at fcgov.com/volunteer or by calling 970-416-8000 during weekday business hours. A no-cost background check is conducted on every applicant.
The City of Fort Collins volunteer services program manager, Sue Shafer, said this in the City press release about the program:
“We are in a unique and uncertain time, but we are in it together. The coronavirus situation puts some of our friends, families and neighbors at greater risk. Yet, with all the uncertainty, we have the chance to show the world that Fort Collins is a truly exceptional community that rises up to help one another.”
