Longtime Loveland Sports Bar Featured on ‘Bar Rescue’ Closes

Nobody likes the sound of a small Colorado business having to close its doors, but when it's a spot that got a makeover from "Bar Rescue," it hurts all the more. This Loveland spot had been a bar of some sort for over 40 years. What will become of the space?

Loveland Sports Bar Had Many Different Names Over the Decades

Blue32 Sports Grille opened in 2014, in a spot that was the longtime home to Miller's Crossing in north Loveland, west of Orchards Shopping Center. In 2019, after having been the new owner of Blue 32 for only 18 months, that owner got a "cease and desist" about the bar's name, and had to change it to Blue Sports Grill.

Just Because You're Featured on TV Doesn't Always Lead to Success

When Blue was featured in a "Bar Rescue" makeover in 2022, the place really did look different, including getting another new name: Colorado Champions Sports Cafe. Less than four years after that great makeover, the owner of Champions, Duane Farnum, very emotionally announced the restaurant/bar's closing, which took place on February 16, 2026:

With a heavy heart and with great pain I’m announcing that Colorado Champions sports Café will be permanently closing its doors. After @ 8 years serving Northern Colorado and especially the Loveland community our time has come to the end.

I am heartbroken that I have let down my wife, my family, friends, team members and my community. At this moment I’m not sure how I will be able to mend this broken heart of mine and empty feeling in my soul, maybe I will never get over this feeling. I hope you all find it in your hearts to forgive me of my failure’s going forward because Champions had a life of its own where my family, friend, team members and loyal guest came to relax and have their own local Cheers atmosphere every day.
