Centennial Celebration Planned for Weld County Courthouse
One hundred years ago, construction of one of Weld County’s most iconic buildings was completed for $414,302.05. Today, the Weld County Courthouse, featuring intricate craftsmanship, bronze detailing and Colorado marble still stands as one of the most beautiful courthouses in the state.
To celebrate the history of this building, Weld County, the 19th Judicial District and members of the community are working on plans for a public celebration for June 30th, 2017, which will tie into Greeley Friday Fest events that same night.
In addition to a celebratory event on June 30th, a series of speakers and lunch and learns, as well as tours of the building, will be held throughout the month of June.
Donations Accepted
Donations to help fund the celebration are being accepted by the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County, who graciously agreed to handle the account for the committee. Donations, which are tax deductible, should include Courthouse 100th Anniversary in the memo line. Or you can donate on-line at cfsgwc.org – just select the Weld County Courthouse 100th Anniversary Fund.
