We've all been there before... driving somewhere you've never been before, diligently following the GPS as it navigates you to your destination.

We've also all been fooled by GPS taking us a wrong way, leading to frustration as you have to make a few u-turns and figure out where you are before trusting that the GPS has you back on track.

In the case of a driver from Boulder on Sunday night, their GPS allegedly took them on a journey they won't soon forget. They were navigating their way to an employee housing complex in the dark, when the GPS prompted them to take an ill-fated turn... right onto the Schoolmarm ski run at Keystone Resort.

The Audi eventually got stuck in the snow at the bottom of the ski run and its driver had to abandon the car for the night, but at least they left behind a note explaining exactly what happened.

For their part, the Summit County Sheriff's Office declined to cite the driver due to the error, in addition to the fact the car was technically parked on private property and the resort was ultimately understanding of the mistake. They ended up putting a temporary fence around the car to mark it as a hazard for skiers and snowboarders coming down the run, until they could assist the driver in getting a tow truck to the location to have it moved.

Turns out some parking spots ARE too good to be true.
