It's hard for Aurora, being one of Colorado's largest cities; the city gets a bad rap, often. Now, it's shown up on a list of the top cities for the worst road rage.

Aurora, Colorado Ranks Among Top 15 Cities for Road Rage

Over 400,000 people live in Aurora; that means there are a lot of vehicles out on the road there. Omaha, however, has nearly 100,000 more people yet lands on the "least road rage" list.

There are a lot of pros to living in Colorado's third-largest city, Aurora; such as parks, job opportunities, having great health care nearby, being close to Denver but not in Denver, a diverse community and more.

The cons about living in Aurora include its limited public transportation; hence, you have many, many commuters in the area. Many cities across the nation have the same problem, but don't end up on this list.

Aurora, Colorado, first started out as Fletcher, Colorado, on April 30, 1891. The town had 39 residents and 14 new homes with indoor plumbing.

What Metrics Were Measured Putting Aurora, Colorado on the List?

  • Commute dissatisfaction.
  • Inefficiency.
  • Wasted time.
  • Shootings.
  • Reckless driving.

Houston's overall "Road Rage" score topped the list at 64.15. Lincoln, Nebraska was at the bottom of the list with an amazingly low score of only 1.5. Colorado landed just outside the top 10 at #12 with a score of 51.45.

In 2019, CNN Health had suggestions about avoiding road rage, that drivers in Aurora may want to take note of, including reducing your own stress before getting in the car, and to never escalate the situation.

Of course, 2019 seems like a lifetime ago, for many.
