A new ad campaign airing outside of Colorado evokes emotion rather than talking about 'stuff'. John Ricks, the Director of the Colorado Tourism Office told the crowd at the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau lunch at the Hilton Fort Collins on May 23, 2012 that

...every state has 'stuff'. What makes our 'stuff' better than theirs?

Obviously, we have some of the best mountains, rivers, lakes, people and beer in the world, but how does one get that across with an ad campaign?

They started by using Colorado people to produce the ad. The writers, directors, actors and even musicians were all from Colorado. Then, they focused on emotion and feeling rather than stuff.

The team working on the project sought to find the reasons why we love to ski, why we love to hike, why we live in Colorado, and further, why people should visit.
