A Zamboni has groomed 8.5 acres of the 40-acres Evergreen Lake and ice skating reopened for the season on Saturday (Dec. 19).

According to 303 Magazine, the spot is considered the world’s largest Zamboni-groomed outdoor ice skating rink.

Evergreen Lake is located about 45 minutes from Denver and about 90 minutes from Fort Collins.

Typically the lake with an epic mountain backdrop features on giant skating rink and 11 pond hockey rinks. CNN once named the spot one of the 10 most beautiful skating rinks in the world.

Operations have changed in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic.

All tickets are sold in advance online with no walk-up tickets. Each rink is limited to 10 people and skaters must maintain six feet of distance between households.
